Does Linux work well on a HP tc1100 tablet?

  1. I just purchased a HP tc1100 tablet which orginally had Windows XP Tablet installed. I been looking through Ubuntu's hardware compatibility list and most of the tablet's hardware looks to work except for tweaking applications to use the pen. I am looking for some suggestions on the best OS to put on this device. I thought of trying Windows 7 which my wife can purchase relatively cheap, but I would like to keep my conversion process to Linux going if possible. I started with Ubuntu 8,x so I don't have a expeirence with the command line if a lot of changes need to be made make the hardware work.

Thank you for any suggestions and comments.
